Meet the Finance Team.
The Finance Team is responsible for all aspects of financial management by working closely with the fundraising team. They are accountable for financial oversight, budgeting, planning and reporting. They ensure accurate banking and record keeping including the control of fixed assets.
Head of Finance
Abdul has been involved with a number of community projects for several years, including working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Abdul joined JourneyMaa with the hope to facilitate better access to education and promote maternal health and wellbeing on an international stage.
Abdul is currently a junior doctor having qualified in 2018 from King’s College London. He also graduated with a first-class degree in Regenerative Medicine and Innovation Technology from King’s College London.
His research background is what has equipped him with the skill-set and ability to design educational material for mothers in Bangladesh, including an illustrated guide to Safe Pregnancy. Abdul has been involved with a number of student societies at university, including his role as Head of Events for the KCLSU Medical Education and Research Journal Society. Abdul also has experience as a Finance Administrator at the London Welsh Centre.
Finance OfficerAarash Al-Mazi is a recent Mathematics graduate from King’s College London and currently works as a Strategy Consultant at Ernst & Young. Aarash had been involved in a number of projects during his time at university including being the Treasurer of the KCL Bangladesh Society. Having visited Bangladesh recently in 2016, he observed the massive differences of maternal healthcare in the UK to Bangladesh. Aarash joined Maa to learn more about how to tackle the problem and make education more accessible to those in deprived areas.
Finance OfficerAbul accounts for all the transactions that enter and exit within the financial accounts of Maa. Abul recently graduated in Economics and Politics at Goldsmiths, University of London. The work of Maa is sentimental to his core values, a better environment for mothers all around the world.
Finance OfficerAisha is currently studying Mathematics at King’s College London and is a Finance Officer at Maa. She decided to join Maa as its aspirations resonate with, and inspire her. She firmly believes that a move to strengthen mothers is a move to strengthen entire communities. Aisha is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of doing exactly this and hopes Maa’s aims will one day become a reality across the globe.
MOHAMMAD ZOHEB BOODOO
Finance OfficerZoheb is a medical student at King’s College London and has completed a Masters in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics of Health at University College London. His study of health policy and the inequalities of healthcare has led him to examine how this differs globally. Previously part of the Charity Week team, Zoheb was the Finance lead for London and the UK. He has participated in ‘Young Enterprise’ as the team’s treasurer, receiving the Crest award for ‘Understanding of a real-world concept’. Zoheb also attained the ‘BAE Systems Leadership Award’ in the ‘Big Bang Fair’ nationals for his work in the company Integral Incorporated. The attributes gained by Zoheb, coupled with his passion for helping resource poor environments, resulted in his passion for helping Maa achieve their goals and grow further.
